Gotta' Website Canton, Ohio?

Owning this Amish Country website and living in Holmes County, I recently found a pretty inexpensive website design and development company in the Canton, Ohio area. Unfortunately, down in Holmes, the pricing can get pretty pricey for website development. This company called Reasonable Websites helps you make an inexpensive website by showing up at your business directly and helping you develop your website on-site. Afterward, you should be able to make most of your own changes to your new site, like updates and stuff. Beats paying someone else some ungodly fee to do it for you. LOL

If you have a business in Stark County, Holmes County, Summit County or Tuscarawas County, I'd contact Canton Web Design and give them a shot.

Reasonable Websites has just re-done its web pages to reflect their new branding as Canton Web Design.

In order to reach consumers in the Northeast Ohio region, specifically around Canton, Akron, Summit and Stark Counties, Canton Web Design has taken a more direct approach.

There are businesses out there who want affordable website design, but also want control. Many web hosting companies will host your website, but then hold people captive when they need to update pages. Updates are either untimely, error-ridden, or quite costly. Even worse, some web design/hosting companies offer all three examples of poor business. Yikes!

Canton Web Design is looking to educate their customers and empower them to be able to produce their own web page updates. They do so by on-site training and dedication to the customer. This way, in the long run, the cost of maintaining a website is minimal at best. Of course, if you prefer they do all the updating for you, well they can do so reasonably.

If you live in Canton, Massillon, Dalton, North Canton, Alliance, Hartville, Louisville, Minerva, Magnolia, Carrollton, Navarre, Bolivar, New Philadelphia, Dover, Jackson Township, Stark, Summit, Carrol, Wayne or Tuscarawas counties, please give Canton Web Design a call or send them an e-mail!

--------more news------------------------------------

We also decided to research wineries in PA, and found quite a list of Pennsylvania Amish Country Wine, along with Pennsylvania Amish Country Breweries! These newest pages were added to the Amish Food and Amish Country Wine pages. ;C)

Hot summer?

Wow, the last couple of days have been hot here in Amish country Ohio, but it is welcomed after a few weeks of cool weather.

We are working to add some listings of Amish Restaurants in Ohio, PA and Indiana. More about that in my next blog. I had the opportunity to visit the Louisville Eagles recently and had a good time, before heading back down to Holmes County. ;c)

More additions are happening to the Amish website designed to not only educate but assist travelers in their search for vacations within Amish country.

We first began to update Amish towns by adding Indiana Amish towns, as well as the Amish towns of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. In addition, we needed to offer better Amish country maps: Indiana Amish Country Maps and Pennsylvania Amish Country Maps were added or updated.

The new section called Amish Country Vacation is focusing on Amish Country Lodging and eventually other pages for entertainment which will be added soon.

Animals and Wildlife in Amish Country

There are many types of animals in Amish country. We thought today we would recommend a website about caring for pets as well as wildlife! The website is called Wildlife Pet Care and can be visited at http://www.wildlifepetcare.com. This is a great resource for pet care and should be bookmarked.

Amish Summer!

It's Amish summer 2008, a great time to visit Amish country!

In Ohio's Amish Country, the weather has been nice and warm, so Amish life is buzzing with activity. The Amish people can be seen everywhere in Holmes county as their buggies and bikes seem to be all around (please be careful while driving through Amish towns and back roads).

While having your Amish experience, be sure and take a look at Amish furniture, Amish quilts and dine on Amish food. Rumor has it that Breitenbach Winery just keeps getting better and better, so be sure and pay them a visit; especially if you wish to try some incredible Amish wine.

Happy Vacation!

Updates to Amish Country Virtual Tours!

We updated our Amish site with some interesting stories about places and towns in Ohio Amish country.

If you want to see a very unique hardware store, then Lehman's is the place to visit. Lehman's Hardware houses brand new, but old-style appliances, tools, lamps and more!

While traveling Amish communities, it may be a good idea to understand how these communities of Amish and Mennonites came to be. Read about the Amish Mennonite Heritage.

Lastly, a small hidden town of treasure is well hidden within the country roads, hills and waterways just east of Amish communities within NE Ohio. Zoar, Ohio has a rich history, old buildings, museums, shops and more. Read about the separatists and their flight from Europe, which is not unlike the Amish pursuit of religious freedom.

Teen Driving...in Amish Country!!

With the amount of teens driving today, we thought it important to write about this subject and how it relates to buggy and car crashes that occur from time to time in Amish Country. Amish passengers in horse driven buggies truly stand little chance at survival of such horrific accidents.

Teenagers simply do not understand how quickly an accident can occur. Speeding through Amish communities is not a safe practice, as one never knows what is coming around the corner or what lies beyond the next hill. Parents need to promote safety by instructing their teens in becoming safe drivers and not just throw them behind the wheel of a car.

We found a pretty cool webpage called, "How's My Teen Driving?" They sell an inexpensive bumper sticker that can be put on a teenager's car, so witnesses to the teen's bad driving can call the parent's phone number. What a great idea! Here's the link: Teen Driving Bumper Sticker.

Amish Food!

What a wonderful story about dining and purchasing Amish food while in Holmes County, Ohio. Though the land of the Amish is scenic, dotted with interesting shops and people, most new visitors neglect the "eats." First time explorers simply do not realize that the food found in Amish country is wonderfully good, whether breakfast, lunch or dinner is eaten there, or food items are purchased and taken home. Needless to say we loved exploring Amish Country Ohio!

Amish Winter...

Many people think Fall or October when they consider visiting Amish Country, because they want to see the foilage in an array of beautiful colors while experiencing the Amish towns and stores. However, they would really be missing out on the wonderful winters countryside of snow, sleighs and Amish people in warm wool coats. Quite quaint and quite spectacular to see!
