Updates to Amish Country Virtual Tours!

We updated our Amish site with some interesting stories about places and towns in Ohio Amish country.

If you want to see a very unique hardware store, then Lehman's is the place to visit. Lehman's Hardware houses brand new, but old-style appliances, tools, lamps and more!

While traveling Amish communities, it may be a good idea to understand how these communities of Amish and Mennonites came to be. Read about the Amish Mennonite Heritage.

Lastly, a small hidden town of treasure is well hidden within the country roads, hills and waterways just east of Amish communities within NE Ohio. Zoar, Ohio has a rich history, old buildings, museums, shops and more. Read about the separatists and their flight from Europe, which is not unlike the Amish pursuit of religious freedom.

Teen Driving...in Amish Country!!

With the amount of teens driving today, we thought it important to write about this subject and how it relates to buggy and car crashes that occur from time to time in Amish Country. Amish passengers in horse driven buggies truly stand little chance at survival of such horrific accidents.

Teenagers simply do not understand how quickly an accident can occur. Speeding through Amish communities is not a safe practice, as one never knows what is coming around the corner or what lies beyond the next hill. Parents need to promote safety by instructing their teens in becoming safe drivers and not just throw them behind the wheel of a car.

We found a pretty cool webpage called, "How's My Teen Driving?" They sell an inexpensive bumper sticker that can be put on a teenager's car, so witnesses to the teen's bad driving can call the parent's phone number. What a great idea! Here's the link: Teen Driving Bumper Sticker.
